Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste, Costa Rica

This newsletter is a monthly publication from your friends at Boomers Offshore.  It's just our way of trying to stay in touch and to encourage on-going communications between family, friends or anybody interested in our lives in Costa Rica.

Welcome Back My Friends To The Newsletter That Never Ends...

Holiday season is once again upon us.  This is our second celebration since moving to Costa Rica and we are doing it in a completely new location.  We've opted out of having a traditional turkey dinner because (frankly) the cost of a turkey more than 5 times that of the U.S.  So we are going to BBQ roast a big chicken complete with a can of beer and herbs and spices shoved up where the sun don't shine!

We're going to miss all the friends and family from holiday's from days past.  Who knows, one day we'll be hosting Turkey day on Playa Hermosa!  Pura vida yall.

If You Don't Like The Weather... Move

Historically, October is the rainiest and (meteorologically speaking) nastiest month of the year throughout all of Costa Rica.  This year was no exception.  For while we were out of the country visiting friends and family in the States, Tropical Storm Tomas stalled over Costa Rica dumping even more unneeded water onto an already rain soaked country.

Reader's Respond To Rant...

In my last newsletter, I wrote some rather incendiary, and some might even say derogatory (I say thought provoking), comments about the perceived dictatorial policies of some internet discussion forum moderators.  Following that issue, several readers wrote to voice their opinion.  I want to share those opinions and thoughts with you.  The comments were mixed, however the majority of those comments I received supported my rant.
