We live in the tropics where alcohol
(and a few herbs) reign supreme. In this menu I seize the opportunity
of taking some of Natures most basic ingredients and combine them
into one, smoking hot, get yourself loaded, type of party dessert.
We will be serving these Jello-O shots at our annual Halloween Party
and Street Fest in Charlotte North Carolina on October 31, 2010.
I'm not sure how many servings this
will make. It all depends on how large you cut the Jell-o
cubes. However, I would guess that this recipe should put a
nice buzz on 4-5 of your best friends.
STEP #1 - GATHERING YOUR INGREDIENTS...
MAIN INGREDIENTS:
STEP #2 -
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER...

For each box of
Jell-O, boil 2 cups of water

Add Jell-O to
boiling water, constantly whisking the gelatin as you pour

When gelatin is
completely dissolved, slowly add in Tequila and Triple Sec.

Continue to whisk
until completely mixed

Pour dissolved
mixture into Pyrex containers.
TIP: keep your
Jell-O depth to less than 3/4"

Place in
refrigerator until solid
STEP #3 -
FINISHING IT OFF...

Remove Jell-O from
refrigerator.

Using a butter
knife and spatula, cut Jell-O into 3/4" - 1" cubes.

Lightly drizzle a
small amount of Triple Sec over the Jell-O cubs

Lightly drizzle (a
pinch between your finger tips) of some salt across the the top of the Jell-O
cubes
-
Place Jell-O shots
into individual serving containers
